Until Next Time...

What's a fall market without fresh apples like these beauties from Ten Eyck Orchard?

Until Next Time...

Alas, the time has come to call it a day on the 2018 market season. Another great year filled with beauty, flavor, music & community busting out of every corner for 30 weeks of the year. We saw days of perfect sunshine, days of rain and even a couple of days of snow this season, but we weathered it all and no trip to market was in vain. We couldn't have done it without the efforts of so many that thanks are due to each and every one of you. Our loyal market shoppers make the WCM what it is, coming out in sun, rain or snow to show our farmers your support is truly humbling. We tip our caps twice to Tracy Danner & EVP Coffee for all they do! Not only have they opened up their University Row location just for the market on Saturdays, they so generously donated coffee for our vendors and volunteers each week for the last two seasons. We are so grateful for their generosity and being such a welcoming business to work with. Once we had our morning coffee, we were ready to tap our feet or even do a little dance to the lovely tunes of our favorite musicians Moldy Jam. These magnificent minstrels brought us good tunes nearly every market this season, helping people get into the spirit with shakers for the kids and a chance to join in the jam for interested players. A market morning wouldn't be complete without a little local music, and we're lucky to have Moldy Jam call the WCM home each week. Speaking of home, we would like to give special thanks to UW Health for once again giving us space for the market. We'd be a group of lost souls without their offer of shelter during these transitional years. A special thanks to their Sustainability Director Mary Evers-Statz for helping us coordinate with UW Health and making the market a reality. We look forward to returning to the Digestive Health Center next spring for our opening day on April 20th. Lastly, a big thank you to our vendors for the hard work put in week in and week out. Whether they're out in the field or deep in the production kitchen, their efforts bring us so much joy each and every Saturday. It was an especially crazy year for our growers and we want to recognize their determination to plow through the crazy weather and bring good food to our tables. It's hard to say goodbye after seeing all your wonderful faces each week, but we can take some solace knowing that it's only temporary. We'll be counting down the days till we see you all again for our 15th(!) season, starting April 20th 2019. See you at the 2019 market season! Ben Zimmerman Market Manager
