Westside Community Market
Our history is in the soil...
The Westside Community Market opened in the summer of 2005 atop the Hill Farms Department of Transportation complex on University Avenue. The expanding demand for local food and a demand for a place for farmers to sell their goods highlighted the need for a new market. Thus the first vendor-run, producer-only market opened on Madison's west side.
After a dozen seasons the market has grown into a fixture of fresh food, beautiful flowers and friendly neighborhood faces. For 30 weeks a year we gather with 45 + vendors to bring the best produce, meats, cheese, flowers, plants, honey, baked goods, artisanally crafted foods and more to the west side of Madison and its surrounding neighborhoods.
In 2017 we embark on a new adventure as we move the market out from the dust and debris of the Hill Farms redevelopment. While we may return to Hill Farms down the road, we're excited to call the UW Health Digestive Health Center, on the corner of University Avenue & University Row, our new home.
We hope you can join us for the bounty of community and delicious local food the market offers up every Saturday.
