Catching Up

Sunshine, a light breeze and tables upon tables of fresh produce all add up to a fantastic market day for the last Saturday of June. We welcomed back Rami from Atoms to Apples with fresh strawberries and the first red & black raspberries of the season. Several other vendors had their first raspberries, meaning we can expect to see more in the weeks to come. We also welcomed our newest vendor, Farmer Johns' Cheese! With ample customer feedback requesting more cheese at the market, we're glad Farmer Johns' is joining the ranks at WCM with many tasty varieties of block cheese and cheese curds. New produce arrivals keep coming in with frisée, shell peas and celery all making their first

To Long Days and Summer Sunshine

Beets of all colors from Vang Family Farm The seasonal tilt into summer was fully felt last weekend, as we pushed through our tenth market of 2017 and the final of our spring session. A warm day full of sunshine was the perfect setting for a bustling market full of tasty strawberries, sugar snap peas and smiling faces. A hint of the summer harvest peaked its head out in the form of the first broccoli, fennel, and zucchini of the season. Shoua Vang brought us some tasty snow peas, which brought to mind the tasty recipe featured below in the Recipe Corner. NessAlla Kombucha was rocking the seasonal flavors too with a super tasty Lemonbalm Pineapple weed brew, a refreshingly tasty way

Happy Father's Day!

Squeaky Fresh Curds from Murphy Farms A blustery day couldn't blow out the fantastic market day we had last weekend. In part, we can thank the arrival of sugar snap peas from Vang Family Farm, with their crisp spring freshness perfectly wrapped in those crunchy pods. Thanks are due as well to the cascade of strawberries from every corner of the market, with ample fruit from Flyte Family Farm, among others. Beyond the new produce arrivals, there were plenty of fantastic offerings like fresh pullet eggs from Dreamfarm and bee pollen from Bonde Bee. Flowers were out and shining in beautiful hanging baskets from de Block Nursery and Natalie's Garden & Greenhouse. This weekend, we're lo

School's Out, Veggies In

Crunchy granola from Cress Spring Bakery While our youngest shoppers are surely celebrating the end of the school year and the kick off to summer, we're sure glad that market season is in full swing. The first market of June teased us with some fantastic new arrivals, a taste of what's in store for this weekend, and the rest of the season. Strawberries had a soft opening from Shoua Vang, with just a few beautiful quarts starting the day off right and hinting at the promise of more to come. That promise is sure to be delivered this coming week as we welcome back Live Jewelry Farm with ample strawberries in tow. We saw the first kohlrabi of the year arrive in bunches of tender medium

Just in time for June

Sylvan Meadows Farm with soft wool yarn, roving and pelts Ample sunshine, warm weather and the best farm fresh products Wisconsin has to offer made the last market of May a near perfect day. Many a happy young face stopped by our Gear Up for the Garden station at the market to plant sunflowers, make wildflower seedballs, draw flowers with sidewalk chalk or just play in a little spring sunshine. We're happy to get to celebrate with our shoppers, it makes the community in our market a very real thing. It's the spare moment to tap along to Moldy Jam, the time catching up with our neighbors, and eagerly hearing all the exciting plans folks have for summer. A lot of shopper's were happy t
