4th of July Weekend

Sometimes it feels like the week just drags on and on, doesn't it?

Thankfully you've always got the market to look forward to, and as we approach this holiday weekend, we are counting down the hours until we're out there in the sunshine with all our lovely market community members.

For many of you, the holiday weekend plans include a cookout of one type or the other, and the market is the place to start your shopping.

Highland Spring Farm & ParKelm Farm have your back when it comes to grilling up something tasty with a broad variety of pastured beef and pork products between them.

Topping those burgers is a breeze with a great selection of cheese from Farmer Johns' Cheese and crisp lettuce from Natalie's Garden & Greenhouse (pictured).

Bryant Family Farms is bringing in their fresh chicken this week, with whole birds, wings, legs, thighs and more to enjoy.

If you're going the homemade route for your sides, Flyte Family Farms has some great potatoes in, ready to be whipped up into a delicious potato salad.

When time's a factor, fret not about homemade and grab a bag of cheese curds from Murphy Farms (pictured). The guest who brings fresh curds is always welcome.

Those of you assigned to desserts, these easy honey bars will hit the spot and Bonde Bee has your honey needs covered with offerings from big to small (pictured).

We're excited to kick off the holiday weekend with you all and revel in the good things this life has to offer us. From sunshine, to the weekend, to extra time with friends and family, we've a lot to look forward to.

See you at market!

Call for Volunteers

The market is looking for a few new volunteers to help at the Info Tent during market Saturdays to answer customer questions, give directions to vendors and aide our FoodShare shoppers using their cards to shop the market.

We have two different shifts open, 9am - 11am and 11am - 12:30pm. Whether you'd like to come out each week or once a month, this is a great opportunity to give back to the market and help make good local food accessible to everyone.

Please email Market Manager Ben Zimmerman or stop by the Info Tent to find out more or sign up!

Market on the Move in 2023

We've got some big news to share regarding the 2023 market season. Many of you have already seen the news that UW Health is planning on building a new clinic in part of the market occupied lots starting next year.

With construction slated to begin next spring, we're happy to announce we'll be relocating to the MG&E Innovation Center inside University Research Park in 2023. Located about 1.5 miles south of our current location, the new market site will offer room for our vendors, along with ample parking space for our shoppers, as well as a shaded picnic area for everyone to relax and enjoy their market goods while listening to music and taking in those great market mornings.

We'll have more details to come later in the summer, but rest assured that the WCM will remain a great fixture of the west side community for years to come. For the remainder of 2022, you can find us each and every week at 750 University Row into early November.
