A beautiful double rainbow graced us for market opening last week

As you can see above, the market opening hour was graced with a beautiful double rainbow last Saturday morning, and while we didn't quite find a pot of gold, the treasures of the day were abundant.
Bonde Bee delighted early shoppers with some fresh concord grapes (pictured), delicious as a snack or perfect for some homemade jelly.
The variety of fresh greens is beginning to grow again as the weather cools, with plenty of kale, collards, chard and more coming in, including these pristine napa cabbage from Blue Moon Community Farm.
Other treasures of the day included lovely floral bouquets from Lor Farm, huge Perez Produce sunflowers and bright marigolds from Hope + Hill Flower Co.
For the sweet treat lovers, the best treasures come in pastry form, like delicious danishes (pictured) from Stella's Bakery, the ever-delectable hand pies from Honey Bee Bakery, or a classic frosted sugar cookie from Judith & Jane's Bakehouse.
Sometimes the best treasures are the unexpected, be it a surprise rainbow or a new produce find. This week one such wonder was fresh jicama (pictured) from Live Jewelry Farm. This delicious tuber is great peeled and eaten fresh, similar to radish or as a crunchy addition to soups and stir-fries.
There's a chance of rain in the forecast this weekend, but that won't mean we're short on market treasures. We might even luck out and have another rainbow to brighten up the morning.
As a reminder, we ask shoppers and vendors alike to please use the new gravel paths going forward and to let the old foot paths heal over and regrow with their native plantings.

Vendor Notices
Madison Sourdough & Green County Hemp will both be absent this Saturday, September 19th due to the Willy Street Fair. They will both return the following weekend.
Driftless Chocolates will return to the market for the month of October with their delicious artisan chocolates.
