Double Dollars Return!

Stepping into June we've got so much to be excited for. School's out in just a few more days, pools around the city begin to open to help us stay cool and we get the chance to celebrate the return of the Double Dollars program for our FoodShare shoppers.
Under the Double Dollars program, our FoodShare shoppers can get up to $20 matched each week to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables, like this pictured lettuce from Yang Family Produce. Double Dollars can even be used to purchase plant starts that produce food, like tomato starts or edible herbs.
Paired with our FoodShare program, Double Dollars is a win win, allowing more fresh local and delicious produce to head home with our shoppers, while directly supporting our growers. For those interested in supporting the program, please visit the Double Dollars page from program facilitator, Community Action Coalition for South Central Wisconsin.

June also brings us some wonderful early summer favorites, with strawberries and sugar snap peas expected to roll in any time now, with large quantities for jamming or pickling available later this month.
The building heat is putting the pressure on to get those garden starts in the ground. Fear not, there are still plenty of great options from around the market, including great deals on hanging baskets from vendors like Natalie's Garden & Greenhouse (pictured).
New sightings this past weekend included early bulb onions, hot house cucumbers & tomatoes, and fresh beets. Speaking of beets, the 2026 issue of the Farm Fresh Atlas is now available for free at the Westside Community Market tent, and it includes a fantastic and unique recipe for beet tartare. Swing on by and pick up a copy.

We've got a lot in store this month, and while we can't wait for all the new finds, we're plenty happy to enjoy the classics, like these stunningly arranged flowers from Lor Farm. Classic or brand new, a good market find is hard to beat.
See you at the market!
