Hand-pulled mozzarella and fresh paneer from Dreamfarm

Shorter Days, Longer Memories

The sun rises later day by day and sets earlier each night. Yet the shortened hours of September have us rushing to squeeze it all in.

Now is the time to grab the bulk cases of tomatoes from Blue Moon Community Farm (pictured) to make up that salsa, sauce or passata.

Start up your homemade sauerkraut or kimchi with fresh cabbage heads from Shoua Lee Vang. While they last, grab up the small pickling cucumbers from Bonde Bee and make some classic bread and butter sweet pickles.

Take advantage of the lasting nice weather and the sales from Tend Native Plants (pictured) to get some native perennials in the ground.

Now is the time to grab some fresh produce to make your dilly beans, salsa verde, fresh baba ganoush and so much more. Stop by Natalie's Garden & Greenhouse and take advantage of their deal on sweet corn. Cut from the ear, freeze and find yourself enjoying delicious corn all winter long.

We haven't yet had to fear a frost, but it won't be long before some of these late summer favorites get nipped by the cold.

Enjoy the lettuces, melons and fresh peppers while you can. There's still time for an amazing fresh summer salad to join the dinner lineup, at least for now.

More tasty fall offerings are arriving each week, but for now don't sleep on the end of summer bounty. It won't be long before we swap shorts for sweaters, cantaloupes for pumpkins.

See you at the market!
