So much flavor! Chili Garlic Crisp from Savory Accents

So Long May

As we reach the tail end of May, summer is truly giving us a taste of what's to come, and not just in terms of the heat.

This past weekend, we saw produce offerings explode with new finds in at many vendors, like this pictured choy sum from Shoua L. Vang.

Flyte Family Farms will make their return this coming Saturday and bring even more options for you weekly shoppers.

Lettuces, green garlic, early season carrots and so many radishes were to be found and we're still in our spring session.

For the gardeners out there, there's still plenty of time to find starts for your flowers, herbs and vegetables from vendors like Domann's Plants (pictured) and Kopke's Greenhouse.

The growing produce options are perfectly complemented by our market staples and give you so many ideas for lunch and dinner each week.

Whip up this simple radish salsa recipe to pair with fresh tortillas from Tortillas Los Angeles for a homemade taco night. Or grab some microgreens from Westridge Organic Farm to top some fresh hummus and pita (pictured) from YallaDips for a super easy and delicious lunch.

The larger produce harvest of late spring is a great time to remind everyone that Sustain Dane offers free food scrap collection each week at market! Bring your own container or stop by their booth to grab one and help divert those scraps from our landfill. The bounty may keep growing, but we can do our part to ensure the waste get composted and ends up back where it should, feeding our soil.

We'll say "Au Revior" to May this weekend, but we are so excited for the summer months to come and all the great market finds that they will bring.

See you at the market!

Market Manager

As a reminder to everyone, dogs are prohibited within the market area, though we welcome service animals at all times.
