So Long September

Just like that we've come to the end of September and now are fully immersed into fall. While another warm weekend comes our way, we know we're not far now from the cool crisp days that will dominate our flavors and fashion.
Keep the memories of a hot summer alive with Thai chili peppers from Ka Vang Thao (pictured). Available in small boxes or bulk (like real bulk), enjoy in soups, salsas, curries, or especially in a homemade hot sauce.
One welcome sign of fall we spotted last weekend were the first pumpkin floral bouquets (pictured) from Country Bloomers Greenhouse. Come early this weekend to snag up one of those cuties or the first mums of the season.

Other autumn offerings this past weekend include ornamental corn from Don's Produce and on the stalk Brussels sprouts from Alsum Sweet Corn.
Those who've been eagerly awaiting cranberries don't need to hold on much longer. Word came in this week that Wetherby Cranberry Co. will return to the market in two weeks on October 4th.
Summer may be done, but we're still enjoying its late rewards and can enjoy the flavors long into the fall and winter months. Why just grab up a jar of Steppin' Out Foods fruit jam (pictured) and you'll be right back in July.

For now, we'll welcome soup season... just as soon as it cools down enough.
See you at the market!
