Strawberry Fields Sell Out Fast

Nothing moves as fast as fresh strawberries when they debut at market each year.

We started the morning at 7:00am with six different vendors selling pints, quarts and flats of field fresh strawberries. By 8:00am, they were all sold out! Even a 9:00am re-up from Flyte Family Farms didn't last much longer.

This is the classic case of "early bird gets the worm", a common tale with new arrivals this time of year. Of course when the berries look and taste amazing, like these pictured from Live Jewelry Farm, it's pretty understandable.

Thankfully sugar snap peas came out in force this past weekend, giving everyone who craves that fresh crunch the satisfaction they were after.

Across the market a great selection of peas could be found, though nothing beats the impressive visual of the mini sugar snap mountain at the Yang Family Produce tent.

Speaking of lovely visuals, Lor Farm delighted our eyes with bouquets of peonies (pictured), perfect for adding some color to your home.

As we push forward to week #10 of the market season, another fantastic market day is just a part of the celebratory weekend to come.

Saturday is Juneteenth, the oldest celebration of the end of slavery here in the U.S. and this year there's even more to celebrate as Juneteenth is now formally recognized as a federal holiday (as of just this afternoon)!

Of course Sunday is Father's Day, giving us even more to celebrate all weekend long. The market is a wonderful spot to grab Dad that something extra nice, from his favorite steak, a bag of cheese curds or his favorite Savory Accents hot sauce.

Add to the mix that the summer solstice is on Sunday and you'll be reveled out before you head back into work Monday morning. Whatever your weekend plans are, we're grateful to kick things off with you bright and early at the market.

See you at market!
