Double the Fun

Fresh spinach from Yang Family Produce Double the Fun Memorial Day weekend was a hot one for the record books, and we started it off right with a bustling market! Week #7 was the busiest yet of the 2018 season, with even more great Wisconsin produce coming in and the market crowd getting bigger and bigger each week. We have our many farmers and food artisans to thank for giving us an ever expanding selection to shop from, with the dawn of the summer season only a few short weeks away. As we move on into June this week, we'll kick off National Dairy Month, something we take pretty seriously here in Wisconsin. Do your part and enjoy the many dairy options at the market, like fresh chee

Taking Time for What's Important

Beautiful sungold cherry tomato starts from Crossroads Community Farm Taking Time for What's Important We've come to the beginning of that long, wonderful time of year filled with sunny days, cook outs and of course, lucrative trips to the market! It's a great time and one many of us look forward to during those long winter months. As we're enjoying these days, starting off with this nice long Memorial Day weekend, we'd like to encourage you to take the time to appreciate it all. Firstly we give our thanks to those who gave all in their service. We celebrate with family and friends this weekend, reveling in this lush life with good food and plenty of fun. That privilege is due in large

Spring At Last

Fresh asparagus from Ka Vang Thao Spring At Last Even a cool market morning, like we had last Saturday, cannot halt the progress of spring. A stroll up the aisle last weekend well proved that, it indeed is spring season, in all its glory. One sign was the arrival of the first morels (pictured) of the season from Happy Valley Farm. They didn't last too long into the morning, but we were happy to see them and look forward to more coming in. Asparagus made its return this last week as well, another great sign that spring is moving right along. We saw more rhubarb in as well, accompanied by the first spring onions of the season from vendors like Yang Family Produce and Ka Vang Thao. With t

Mother's Day Weekend

Salsas and Jellies from Flyte Family Farm There's no better way to kickoff your Mother's Day weekend with a trip to market. Whether you're out spending time with a special mother in your life, or you're out to find something special for Mom, the market surely is the place to be. Flowers are always a good option for a Mother's Day gift and Five Green Acres has you covered with their artfully arranged bouquets. If the mom in your life is more for planting flowers than receiving them, swing over to Country Bloomers with their excellent selection of ornamentals for the garden. Of course something tasty is sure to please, and the market is not short of yummy delights to stock a gift basket

Springtime Itch

Fresh curds come in many flavors at Murphy Farms Springtime Itch Flowers, radishes and vegetables starts were there to reassure us that it was indeed spring, as the nip in the air made for a brisk market this past Saturday. The positive affirmations of the progressing season help us all keep our sanity in this wacky spring we're having. The trays of colorful pansy flowers from Kopke's Greenhouse and hardy vegetable starts from West Star Organics were good signs of plantings to come. Another bright spot this past Saturday was the debut of one of our new vendors, Truli Julie. Their assortment of sweet and savory biscotti (pictured) is a welcome addition to the market, and we look forward
