New Location - Same Great Market

Back in the Saddle

My stars, we could not have hoped for a better turnout for opening day 2023 last Saturday. We'd like to take all the credit, but an April week of temps in the 70's, certainly helped out.

We'll have to hold off on the shorts and t-shirts for awhile, but it was a blessing to enjoy the kick-off to market season with sunshine and clear skies.

The lines at Madison Sourdough and Chris & Lori's Bakehouse (pictured) all morning meant it was no surprise to see them both sell out early, a good reminder that the early shopper gets the best selection.

For those who felt the weather calling them into their gardens, Domann's Plants and Natalie's Garden and Greenhouse were among several of the vendors with flower and veggie starts, ready to plant.

While we wait for more spring produce to arrive, Steppin' Out Foods is here to meet your asparagus needs with their spicy and original pickled asparagus.

One special find this weekend was freshly made butter (pictured) from Landmark Creamery, perfect for cooking, baking or spreading atop a loaf of bread from Stella's Bakery.

We were happy to welcome two new vendors this weekend. Green County Hemp joined with their array of locally made CBD products (pictured), made from locally grown hemp. Kerch Apiary brought us in hot coffee and some tasty kettle corn, a start to more offerings to come later this season.

Beyond the great offerings from our vendors, our new location at 505 S. Rosa Road was host to our favorite musical guests, the Starr Grass Band and the Market Ramblers, who both delighted our ears. Another fun surprise for many market goers were the horses out enjoying the sun on the west side of Rosa Road, something many families enjoyed checking out.

It's more of a sweater and coat kind of market heading your way this weekend, but that won't stop us from making the most of the early season. With many good market days to come, we thank everyone who turned out this past weekend and look forward to seeing everyone else as the season moves along.

See you at the market!
