Summer Lovin'

The heat is coming in force to welcome us to the official start of summer this weekend.

When the rewards are fresh strawberries and sugar snap peas, we'll take it, though we don't discourage you from coming out to market early to avoid the worst of the heat.

We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for other early summer rewards too, like these pictured wild golden oyster mushrooms from Fungi Farmers, simply beautiful!

Fresh herbs are another special find starting to pop up around the market with fresh dill to now be found, as well as mint. With the heat coming in this weekend, it may be time for some fresh strawberry mint lemonade.

While the start of summer means so much will be coming into market soon, it also means somethings will be winding down. Enjoy the fresh asparagus while it lasts and spring radishes too!

Peony season is going fast too, so now's the time to enjoy beautiful blooms, like these pictured from Lor Farm.

Sweet corn and field tomatoes are still weeks away, but we have plenty to enjoy in the meantime like garlic scapes, many varieties of head lettuce, Napa cabbage and more.

This weekend stop by one of our newest vendors, Isabella Natural Herb Farm and try one of their amazing herbal teas (pictured). Grown in southwestern Wisconsin, they offer many blends and single herb tea varieties.

We can't wait to welcome you all to summer, even with the crazy heat. With so many wonders to come, it's worth sweating it out until we get there.

See you at the market!
